Death of Ira Fritz, Fellow of the American College of Nutrition

Ira H. Fritz, PhD, FACN, CNS of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center. He was 80 years old. Dr. Fritz was a Biochemistry Professor at Wright State University and Union Institute of Biochemistry until his retirement. He was a member of Beth Abraham Synagogue & Men's Club and of the Rod & Reel Fishing Club.  

Dr. Fritz was an esteemed leader of the nutrition field. He was a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition, a Certified Nutrition Specialist through the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists (BCNS) and served on the board of directors of the BCNS, chairing its Credentials Committee.

Dr. Fritz is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Evelyn; daughter & son-in-law, Cheryl & Jay Agranoff of Columbus; son, Will Fritz of Chicago; grandchildren, Max, Sam & Mindy Agranoff; nieces, nephews & cousins; Evelyn's sisters & brothers-in-law; and many other relatives, friends and colleagues.
